Nice Attack: Double Game and False Flag Operations are Interrelated

By Sajjad Shaukat

During Bastille Day celebrations, considered France’s Independence Day, a terrorist who used a hired lorry killed at least 84 people and injured more than 200 persons on July 15, 2016 in a rampage in the French city of Nice. The attack ended when police shot into the truck, killing the driver.

The authorities identified the truck driver as Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, a French national of Tunisian origin. A huge cache of guns, grenades and larger weapons and the terrorist’s identity papers were later found inside the lorry.

Western media reported that a poster apparently created by the Islamic State group (Also known as Daesh, ISIS, ISIL) supporters have been celebrating the attack, orchestrated to coincide with France’s most important national holiday—is being shared on Twitter.

Like the previous terror attacks in Europe and the US, including some other countries, this new one in Nice is also a false flag operation, arranged by some state actors and their intelligence agencies in order to achieve secret aims.

Various acts of terrorism show that without taking cognizance of the related-developments in the world, the general masses of a country and even some educated persons start blaming all the Muslims and the ISIS in this respect. Therefore, we need to go in-depth analysis to know who is behind the carnage in Nice. In these terms, as part of the secret strategy of some states, double game and false flag operations are interrelated.

As regards terrorism, Machiavelli advises the rulers to have a lion-like image outwardly, and act upon the traits of goat inwardly. He also suggests them foreign adventures and the use of terror to obtain their goals. In his sense, a good ruler should be a good opportunist and hypocrite. While echoing Machiavelli, Morgenthau points out that sometimes, rulers act upon immoral activities like deceit, fraud, falsehood and even murder to fulfill their selfish aims.

Indicating double game, Morgenthau, and Palmer and Perkins opine, “Just as power became the instrument of ambitious nationalism and state’s leaders, it has now become the tool of ideologies. The true nature of the policy is concealed by ideological justifications and rationalization.”

If the double game of President Bush (The Senior) and George W. Bush franchised Al-Qaeda on global level, President Obama’s dual policy franchised both Al-Qaeda and ISIS as part of the anti-Muslim campaign and left no stone unturned in advancing the agenda of the Zionists, Israeli lobbies and the neoconservatives in the pretext of global war on terror.

Secretly, President Obama authorized CIA to create ISIS. His perennial covert support to the Israeli atrocities on the Palestinians, silence over the supply (Smuggling) of oil by ISIS to some European countries whose governments have also not taken action against those companies which were exporting oil from the ISIS-controlled regions of Iraq, CIA-assisted Al-Qaeda (Al-Nusra Front), ISIS militants and rebel groups who are fighting to oust Syrian President Assad’s government to obtain the aims of a greater Israel are part of the double game.

When Russian-led coalition of Iran, Iraq, the Syrian army-the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Lebanon-based Hezbollah had broken the backbone of the Mossad-CIA-backed ISIS terrorists, Al-Qaeda’s Al-Nusra Front and the rebels in Syria and Iraq. Israeli Mossad which was already having clandestine contact with the ISIS directed this outfit to plan the November 13 terror attacks in Paris in connivance with the French home-grown militants. Similarly, Mossad used the ISIL terrorists who conducted terror assaults in Brussels on March 22, 2016.

After the false flag operations of Paris and Brussels, including the shooting at San Bernardino, California, Israel achieved its several sinister designs. Like the drastic aftermath of 9/11 tragedy, rulers and politicians of the US-led Western countries, especially of Europe, including their media have been misguiding their general public by creating chauvinism against the Muslims. They are propagating the so-called threat of Islamophobia. In one way or the other, the Muslims are being persecuted in the US and other Western countries, particularly in Europe which has been put on high alert, as these subversive acts were being taken as attacks on the whole continent. Owing to the irresponsible approach of Western leaders, right-wing parties and “Stop Islam” movement in the West, especially in Europe are becoming popular by largely attracting their people. Besides, Muslims in the continent are facing severe backlash in form of attacks on them and threats (In some countries) in wake of anti-Muslim protests. Without caring for human rights, several Muslim refugees have been expelled from various European countries.

Israeli-led America also got the support of its Western allies (NATO) against Russia in relation to Syrian civil war. As part of the double game, American jet fighters and those of its Western coalition started targeting the ISIS terrorists in Iraq and Syria

Besides, like France and Belgium, by ignoring Israeli protest, some EU member states were considering to officially recognize the  a state of Palestine and the EU pressure was growing on Tel Aviv to restart a negotiation process for the two-state solution of the Israeli-Palestinian dispute.

Meanwhile, Russian-supported Assad’s forces have retaken several territories from the control of the rebels and the ISIS terrorists who are on flee in Syria and Iraq.

Notably, Israel, India and Zionist lobbies which are clandestinely assisting America’s anti-Muslim, pro-Israeli, pro-Indian and anti-Pakistani Donald J. Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee want to see him as the president of the United States. Trump who is well-known for his anti-Muslim rhetoric not only exploited the terror assaults of Paris and Brussels, but also the shooting at the gay night club in Orlando, Florida which killed at least 50 persons.

This false flag operation was exposed when on June 28, 2016, The New York Times wrote, “The mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Fla., on June 12 included a curious phrase:  false flag…the victims in the shooting? They were “crisis actors” hired to promote the story as a pretext to impose tighter gun restrictions, the theory goes…the term false flag relates to naval warfare when a ship would fly a flag that would conceal its true identity as a way to lure an enemy closer. Today, it is commonly a shorthand for an act of deception…conspiracy theorists have applied the label to high-profile attacks, including the shootings by a husband and wife last year in San Bernardino, Calif, that killed 14…the phrase has even been used to doubt the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.”

In an interview with Brazilian TV on June 14, 2016, the ex-wife of the Orlando shooter Omar Mateen Sitora Yusufiy disclosed that American FBI pressurized her to keep quiet about his homosexuality. Since the attack, Mateen has been dubbed an Islamic terrorist by the politicians, senior officials and commentators in the US, following reports he had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group, as they wanted to downplay the personal and self-hating nature of the assault.

It is of particular attention that when acts of terrorism occur in the Islamic countries, Western media and rulers do not give much importance. Pakistan has faced several terrorism-related incidents which have killed thousands of the innocent civilians since 9/11 catastrophe. But, Western media have given little coverage to any terror-incident of Pakistan.

On July 2, this year, the double game of the US-led India exposed a false flag operation when the militants attacked on the Holey Artisan Bakery (Restaurant) in the diplomatic district of Dhaka and killed at least 20 hostages and two police officers, which includes most of the foreigners.  ISIL claimed responsibility for terror attack on the restaurant. But, without any investigation, Home Minister of Bangladesh Asaduzzaman Khan accused Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) of the restaurant assault by adding, “There is no IS or al-Qaeda presence in Bangladesh. His statement was contrary to the country’s top officials who have claimed that ISIL exists in Bangladesh. On July 7, 2016, terrorists killed two policemen and a woman in an attack at Eid congregation in Kishoreganj, Bangladesh. The incident came, a day after the ISIL video on social media in which, three Bangladeshi youths appeared, threatening more attacks in the country. It also proves that Bangladesh’s home-grown militants have connections with the ISIL.  Availing the opportunity of the Dhaka restaurant attack, Indian media also began a campaign, accusing ISI. Indian secret agency RAW which is in collaboration with Bangladesh’s intelligence agencies and has been using the ISIL terrorists is behind the Dhaka restaurant attack to distort Pakistan’s image and ISI.

It is noteworthy that irresponsible approach of the US-led entities as well as double game of Turkey and Saudi Arabia has made the ISIL, the most dangerous militant outfit which has rapidly spread its tentacles in the US, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, the Middle East and Africa. Apart from previous terror assaults in Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Jakarta etc., ISIL is behind the recent bombings in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Yemen and Iraq.

It is also of particular attention that since the fundamentalist party BJP led by the Indian Prime Minister Narindra Modi came to power in India, it has been implementing anti-Muslim and anti-Pakistan agenda. India which has strategic partnership with Israel has perennially been manipulating the double game of the US-led West regarding world phenomena of terrorism in connection with Pakistan and Afghanistan, while exploiting their anti-Muslim approach to obtain Indo-Israeli clandestine designs. Both Tel Aviv and New Delhi have been equating the ‘wars of liberation’ in Palestine and Kashmir with terrorism. Their main purpose is to divert the attention of the West from their own atrocities, while employing delaying tactics in the solution of these issues.

Nevertheless, there is a co-relationship of the double game and false flag operations, being conducted in the US, Europe, the Middle East, Afghanistan and elsewhere in the world. In this connection, on January 13, 2015, at least seven personnel of the Afghan security forces died during the suicide attack which targeted the Pakistani consulate in Jalalabad. The ISIL claimed responsibility for the terror assault which coincided with efforts to restart the suspended peace process with Taliban insurgents. Pakistani sources suggested that Indian RAW was behind this terror attack to thwart these peace talks. On May 21, 2016, the CIA-operated drone strike killed the Chief of the Afghan Taliban Mullah Akhtar Mansour in Nushki, Balochistan province of Pakistan. After the incident, Afghan Taliban leaders refused to participate in the US-sponsored talks with the Afghan government. While, in the recent past, with the help of Pakistan, a series of meetings were held in Islamabad and Kabul among the representatives of Pakistan, Afghanistan, China and the US to develop an understanding for the earliest possible resumption of stalled talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban with a view to ending nearly 15 years of bloodshed in Afghanistan. It shows that America is playing double game with Islamabad. Undoubtedly, secret agents of CIA, Mossad and RAW which are well-penetrated in the ISIS, the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) are using the militants of these terrorist outfits to destabilize Tibetan regions of China, Iranian Sistan-Baluchistan, Pakistan’s province of Balochistan and Central Asia. In this regard, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is their special target.

It is worth-mentioning that the US-led West, especially Europe has already started a new Cold War with Russia. The US has decided to station permanently additional troops in Eastern Europe as part of NATO move to defend the continent against the presumed threat of Moscow. In response, Moscow also responded that it would send 30,000 Russian troops along its western and southern borders. Although Cold War has revived between the US-led West and Russia, yet some recent developments have disheartened the Zionist-Israeli-led America.

Britain’s decision to leave the EU after the referendum (Brexit) of June 24, 2016—UK itself could now break apart, with the leader of Scotland, where nearly two-thirds of voters wanted to stay in the EU, saying a new referendum on independence from the rest of Britain was highly likely. President Obama who was insisting upon London to keep aligned with the EU, as this separation “threatens to harm the U.S. economic recovery and distract U.S. allies from global security issues”, as he said on June 24. 2016. On the same day, Donald Trump stated, British voters just shattered political convention in a stunning repudiation of the ruling establishment in a referendum…in November, the American people will have the chance to re-declare their independence. Americans will have a chance to vote for trade, immigration and foreign policies that put our citizens first…people want to see borders. They don’t necessarily want people pouring into their country.”

In wake of the British decision to leave the EU, it will be much difficult for the European politicians to discourage the general population, which is fed up with business as usual inside the EU. Notably, recent violent protests against the labour laws in France might be cited as instance, though the same were not related to the EU, but displayed peoples’ anger in relation to economic policies—the divide between the elite class which run multinational companies with the direct or indirect control of the Jews and the general masses who are suffering from multiple problems. Sooner or later, other EU countries which do not want to continue integration of their states to the European Union could also demand a similar referendum like that of the UK.  People in France, Denmark, Italy, the Netherlands, Hungary, Poland and Austria are reluctant to maintain alignment of their countries with the European Union in wake of differences on the refugee crisis, Syrian war, Greece’s weak economy etc. Therefore, the European Union may disintegrate, giving a greater setback to the US-Europe alliance against Russia.

And more than 14 years have passed and the US-led NATO forces have been facing defeatism in Afghanistan. The ambush attacks on their military installations and personnel by the Afghan freedom fighters have continued, particularly, targeting American bases, check posts and armed persons. Especially, the US military personnel have been demoralized, as they are well-aware of the facts that they have been sent abroad—Afghanistan, Syria and elsewhere in the world to maintain the supremacy of Israel, instead of protecting American national interests. The cost of the endless war is rapidly increasing, adding to the plight of ordinary citizens of the US and its Western allies. However, it is owing to the dual strategy of the US-led India, Israel and some Western countries that RAW, CIA and Mossad are conducting false flag operations also to divert the attention of American and Western public from multi-faceted internal problems, which are the result of prolonged war in Afghanistan and elsewhere in the world.

A rift could be created between the NATO countries, which will give benefit to Russia, quite contrary to the Israeli secret interests.

Confused owing to his own double game and that of the US-led West, on May 8, 2016, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has kept up his rebuke of European nations, accusing them of dictatorship and cruelty for keeping their frontiers closed to migrants and refugees fleeing the Syrian conflict. He clarified that “Turkey would not meet a EU demand for his country to reform its anti-terrorism legislation.” A rift has been created between the West and Turkey, the close ally of NATO. On February 10, 2016, President Erdogan lashed out at the US over its support for Syria’s main Kurdish group, saying, “The failure to recognize the Democratic Union Party (PYD) as a terrorist group is creating a “sea of blood”. He explained, “The PYD, on which the US relies to battle so-called Islamic State in Syria, is an offshoot of the banned Kurdistan Workers’ Party.”

Meanwhile, a Turkish military group claimed on July 15, this year that it had taken control of Turkey’s government, but, on July 16, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim stated that the alleged coup attempt had been foiled. Almost 200 people, including dozens of coup backers were killed and 2,839 military personnel were arrested, as pro-Erdogan forces said. Analysts opine that the rebellion was owing to the double game and flawed policies of Erdogan in relation to Syria and ISIL.

By neglecting American pressure, Erdogan who has taken steps in the end of June, this year to improve relations with Russia to strengthen its hand in fighting against militants, said the attack at the Istanbul airport should serve as a turning point in the global battle against terrorism. Reports suggest that Ankara is also considering a military agreement with Moscow.
Besides, by following the US double game, Syrian rebel groups on April 12, 2016 launched a major offensive on positions of the ISIS in Syria’s northern province of Aleppo. In order to show to the international community and Western public that America is fighting against the ISIS terrorists, US has accelerated air strikes on the ISIS-controlled regions. As per CIA directions, in Aleppo city, shell and mortar attacks by the Al-Nusra Front, ISIS and the rebel groups have continued on the Kurdish neighborhood of Sheikh Maqsoud. ISIS has also continued firing rockets across the border into the Turkish town of Kilis. In the pretext, the Turkish military is retaliating with shell fire.

Recently, on June 26, 2016, Russian-backed Iraqi forces have recaptured the city of Fallujah. Following dual strategy, Pentagon welcomed the retaken of Fallujah, and the US Secretary of State John Kerry has offered Moscow to fight the ISIS terrorists jointly, in case Russia stops targeting the Syrian rebel groups. Nevertheless, it is due to skillful diplomacy of the President Putin that very soon, Syria will be liberated from the hold of the Israeli-led Western powers. Now, the scenario in Syria shows that the CIA-prepared plan-B of Syria’s partition will also fail.

Even, CIA-Mossad scheme to promote sectarian violence in Islamic World on larger scale, after creating a rift between Saudi Arabia and Iran could not succeed, as after the recent bombings in Saudi Arabia, Saudi people have started thinking about the double game of America and Israel, though Riyadh is also supporting the ISIL (The Sunni group) against the Syrian government and Yemen.

Some other developments also frustrated especially Israeli rulers. In this respect, besides a number of human rights groups, particularly Amnesty International in its press release on April 1, 2016 criticized, the controversial Turkish-EU refugee deal by pointing out, “Large-scale forced returns of refugees from Turkey to war-ravaged Syria expose the fatal flaws in a refugee deal signed between Turkey and the European Union…all forced returns to Syria are illegal under Turkish, EU and international law.”

In a speech to the Israel advocacy group J Street, American Vice President Joe Biden remarked on April 18, 2016, “I firmly believe that the actions that Israel’s government has taken over the past several years…the steady and systematic expansion of settlements, the legalization of outposts, land seizures…are moving us and…Israel in the wrong direction.”

In wake of the EU rule to boycott goods produced in Israeli settlements on the West Bank, on March 21, 2016, in a speech in Utah, the only Jewish Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders had sparked controversy by saying, “The US should be even-handed and must not always say that Netanyahu is right.” He criticized Israel’s treatment of Palestinians, condemning the expansion of West Bank settlements and blasting Prime Minister Netanyahu’s withholding of tax dollars from Palestinian authorities and called for an end to the economic blockade of Gaza. Earlier, in an interview with the New York Daily News on April 1, 2016, Sanders remarked about Israel with blood libel in relation to the August 2014 Israeli war in the Gaza Strip by explaining that Israeli forces bombed apartment houses and hospitals and “killed 10,000 Palestinian civilians…Israel’s force was more indiscriminate than it should have been.”

Obama Administration was pressing Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to agree for the two-state solution of the Israeli-Palestinian dispute. A majority of the intellectuals and analysts of the West have also been emphasizing upon the settlement of this issue. Even, non-Zionist Jews have started favouring the two-state solution of the Israeli-Palestinian dispute.

Although the presidential nominee of the Democrats Hillary Clinton is also Israeli agent, yet her criticism about contributions of election-campaign from Wall Street backers, email-scandal etc. have weakened her position. Therefore, Donald Trump best suits the interests of Tel Aviv. In an interview with the Daily Mail on May 2, 2016, Trump stated that Israel should continue construction of illegal settlements across the occupied West Bank. Trump is also against the two-state solution of the Israeli-Palestinian issue.

It is mentionable that France was just preparing to lift its state of emergency which was put into place in the wake of the November terror attacks in Paris, and it would have expired later this month, but Prime Minister Manuel Valls said on July 15, this year that a bill to extend it would be submitted to parliament by July 16.

French investigating agencies disclosed that driver Bouhlel’s wife is in police custody, as officers question her about his alleged Islamist links. Bouhlel was reportedly not on a terrorist watch list and investigators are seeking to establish his motive—and are also looking for possible accomplices. Investigating sources also said that Bouhlel’s last appearance in a criminal court was as recently as March, when he was found guilty of violent contact. They added that despite this, he had no known links with terrorism and was not under surveillance—was an ‘unlikely jihadist’ who flouted every rule of Islam.

Nonetheless, it is owing to the above mentioned developments—the secret strategy of the US and Israel whose intelligence agencies CIA and Mossad have used the ISIL terrorists to conduct the deadliest terror attack in Nice. Most probably, by availing the vicious circle of terrorism, Mossad might have alone arranged this mass murder due to differences among the EU countries, refugee crisis and to fortify the US alliance with the Western countries, particularly Europe against Russia, to divert the attention of American public from internal problems, prolonged war on terror etc., and especially to avoid the solution of the Israeli-Palestinian issue and to ensure the success of Donald Trump in the US presidential elections of November.

In fact, fault cannot be laid on the general masses, a majority of whom are swayed by emotions, stereotypes and prejudices created by the political leaders who keep on manipulating any crisis for their own self-interests with the sole aim of getting their sympathies to increase their vote bank. There are equal strong pressures from religious and nationalist forces in wake of global war on terror which is dividing the world on religious lines. Therefore, instead of misguiding the people by creating phobia of Islam, the rulers and media of the US-led West and peace-loving people of every religious community, including Jews must show realistic approach for the peace of entire world. Otherwise, double game and false flag operations which are interrelated will continue culminating into “clash of civilizations”, as predicted by Huntington.

Edhi: The Angel of Mercy

By:       Aasef Chauhdry
He created a charitable empire out of nothing, masterminding Pakistan’s largest welfare organisation. His name was Abdul Sattar Edhi, who is revered by billions as a national hero. Comfortable and happy with just two sets of clothes, he slept in a windowless room of white tiles adjoining the office of his charitable foundation which was sparsely equipped and just had just one bed, a sink and a hotplate. To many, Edhi was known as the “Father Teresa” of Pakistan.
Abdul Sattar Edhi was born in January 1928 in Bantva village of Indian Gujarat. When he was eleven, his mother became paralysed from a stroke and she died when Edhi was 19. His personal experiences and care for his mother during her illness caused him to develop a system of services for old, mentally ill and challenged people. After the partition Edhi and his family migrated to Pakistan in 1947 where he shifted to Karachi to work in a market at a wholesale shop. His mother would give him 1 paisa for his meals and another to give to a needy. He initially started as a peddler, and later became a commission agent selling cloth in the wholesale market in Karachi. After a few years, he established a free dispensary with help from his community.
Edhi was married in 1965 to Bilquis, a nurse who worked at the Edhi dispensary. The couple had four children, two daughters and two sons. Bilquis runs the free maternity home at the headquarters in Karachi and organizes the adoption of illegitimate and abandoned babies. Edhi was known for his frugal lifestyle, owning only two pairs of clothes, never taking a salary from his organisation and living in an apartment next to his organization’s office. He was a prominent Pakistani philanthropist, social activist, Spartan, and humanitarian. He was the founder and head of the Edhi Foundation in Pakistan and ran the organization for the better part of six decades. He was known as Angel of Mercy and was considered Pakistan’s “most respected” and legendary figure. In 2013, The Huffington Post once paid him tributes by saying that he might be “the world’s greatest living humanitarian.”
Edhi established his first welfare center in 1957 and then the Edhi Trust. What started as one man operating from a single room in Karachi is now the Edhi Foundation. The foundation has over 300 centers across the country, in big cities, small towns and remote rural areas, providing medical aid, family planning and emergency assistance. They own air ambulances, providing quick access to far-flung areas. In Karachi alone, the Edhi Foundation runs 8 hospitals providing free medical care, eye hospitals, diabetic centers, surgical units, a 4- bed cancer hospital and mobile dispensaries. In addition to these the Foundation also manages two blood banks in Karachi. As with other Edhi services, employed professionals and volunteers run these. The foundation has a Legal aid department, which provides free services and has secured the release of countless innocent prisoners. Commissioned doctors visit jails on a regular basis and also supply food and other essentials to the inmates. There are 15 “Apna Ghar” [“Our Home”] homes for the destitute children, runaways, and psychotics.
During his philanthropist life Edhi witnessed quite a few ups and downs in Pakistan and elsewhere in the world. In the early 1980s he was arrested by Israeli troops while entering Lebanon. In 2006, he was detained in Toronto, Canada, for 16 hours. In January 2008, US immigration officials interrogated Edhi at the John F. Kennedy Airport in New York for over eight hours, and seized his passport and other documents. When asked about the frequent detention Edhi said “The only explanation I can think of is my beard and my dress.”
While in Pakistan he was continuously threatened and harassed for his noble cause. Many a times, he complained publicly that few extremist outfits and an ethnic party were creating hurdles for him and threatening him. Though he was afraid of taking the direct name but it was very clear that he was referring to MQM who would not let anyone else to collect donations, casings and extortion. He openly took the names of Hamid Gul and Imran Khan for harassing him. The cricketer turned politician Imran Khan’s political rivals exploited the news while twisting it. When enquired it was found that it was General Imran Ullah Khan in fact who was appointed by Benazir as Governor Balochistan and had soft corner for the PPP.
On 25 June 2013, Edhi’s kidneys failed; it was announced that he would be on dialysis for the rest of his life unless he found a kidney donor. Edhi died on 8 July 2016 at the age of 88 due to kidney failure after having been placed on a ventilator. His last wishes included the request that his organs were to be donated but due to his ill health, only his corneas were suitable. He was laid to rest at the Edhi Village Karachi.
Reactions to his death came from several high-ranking Pakistani officials, most notably the COAS General Raheel Sharif who personally supervised the arrangements for a state funeral for a legend. Unfortunately no prominent political figure could pick the courage to attend that funeral. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif tendered a health excuse while Asif Zardari preferred to stay abroad and so did Bilawal. Nevertheless, the Army ensured an unforgettable send off to the messiah. It was a state honour given to Edhi in the shape of guard of honour and 19-gun-salute. He was only the third Pakistani to receive the historical gun carriage funeral only after Quaid e Azam and Zia ul Haq. The army bashers didn’t spare even this moment to bash and once again stooped low and blamed the forces for hijacking the coffin and keeping the political elite in background, however, truth is known to all and sundries that how popular the political elite of Pakistan is. The country’s head of the army, Raheel Sharif, called him a “true humanitarian.”
Abdul Sattar Edhi didn’t forget to do the last favour before departing for his eternal abode and donated his eyes to the blind people before his death. The only regret is that alas! He should have donated those to the blind and heartless leaders of Pakistan.

Kashmir is Bleeding

By Tariq Rizwan
Violence erupted in Indian occupied Kashmir about a week back after the brutal killing of Burhan Wani, Hizbul Mujahideen leader, in a so called encounter. Local Kashmiri youngsters are fighting the troops in streets and in the mountains of the disputed Himalayan State. The valley is under virtual siege for the last one week due to heavy deployment of Indian troops. Curfew has been imposed and Indian troops and para military forces are perpetrating the worse kind of indiscriminate firing, shelling tear gas etc which has resulted so far into death of more than 40 innocent Kashmiris and injuring of about 1400 others. Clashes are still going on and there is no apparent end to the violence. Most of the independence leaders including Syed Ali Gilani and Mir Wais Umer Farooq are under siege.
Pakistan has taken the issue to UN on Thursday, 14 July 2016 and blamed India for initiating the brutalities. Pakistan Ambassador at UN Dr Maleeha Lodhi urged the international community to realize their responsibility, come forward to implement the UN resolutions on Kashmir seeking self determination for the Kashmiris. She claimed that Indian policies in the occupied valley have jeopardized the prospects of durable peace in the disputed valley. Besides, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has also demanded an immediate cessation to the atrocities, extra judicial killings and violation of human rights in occupied Kashmir.
Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria has told a weekly news briefing in Islamabad that India has a track record of violating the fundamental human rights of Kashmiris including their right to life and self-determination. He reiterated that Pakistan is always ready to resolve the longstanding dispute with India through dialogue. But, he stated, India is shying away from the dialogue process. “It is for the international community to urge India to resolve issues through dialogue,” Zakaria said as tensions continued to grip Indian-occupied Kashmir nearly a week after prominent Kashmiri separatist leader Burhan Wani of the Hizbul Mujahideen was killed in an apparent police encounter.
Due to growing tension in the valley, Indian authorities clamped curfew, blocked telecommunication and cellular system to cut the region off from rest of the world. India is adamant and termed the Pakistan’s moves as interference in its internal affairs. However Pakistan has reminded India that Kashmir is a disputed territory in the light of UNSC resolution and should be treated accordingly. Both the government and Pakistan Armed Forces have condemned the brutalities of Indian Armed Forces against the innocent Kashmiries and asked India to respect the human rights of Kashmiri people.
It is time for India to open its eyes and behave like a true democracy and respect the Kashmiris’ right of self determination. World is competing in the economic field and giving more rights to the people as witnessed by the recent referendum in UK, parting ways with EU. It is an eye opener for India too to give some decent escape to the Kasmiris and save the democracy in the country else the storm is so severe and swift that it may take the whole country into hot water.

Pakistan’s Balancing Role in Middle East and Dual Strategy

By Sajjad Shaukat

Pakistan’s military capabilities qualify it to play a balancing role in the Muslim World in general and the Middle East in particular.

In this regard, rift between Saudi Arabia and Iran widened in the aftermath of the execution of the prominent Shia religious leader Nimr al-Nimr as part of Riyadh’s executions of 47 persons on terrorism charges, on January 2, this year. Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries like Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait, including Sudan broke off diplomatic relations with Iran.

The long rivalry between Saudi Arabia and Iran has come to a boiling point, as rulers and religious leaders of both the countries were accusing each other of promoting sectarian divide in the Islamic World on the Shia-Sunni basis, while manipulating Arab-non-Arab differences.

In this respect, on January 5, 2016, the Adviser to Pakistan’s Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz said before the National Assembly. Pakistan is concerned over recent tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran…the Muslim World faces grave dangers in the situation.”

The statement follows criticism from opposition parties which lashed out at the government in the National Assembly for not coming up with a clear stance on the situation arising out in the region because of the tension between Saudi Arabia and Iran and called for a parliamentary briefing on the issue. Aziz also gave an in-camera briefing to the National Assembly on the Saudi-Iran tensions.

Aziz maintained that Pakistan will continue to play its positive role to ease tensions between Iran and Saudi Arabia and it advocates unity among the Muslim countries.

For the purpose, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif had visited Saudi Arabia and Iran. They held meetings with their rulers in a bid to defuse tensions between the two countries. They called for resolution of the crisis through peaceful means in the larger interest of the Muslim world.

According to the ISPR, during the meeting in Riyadh, Gen. Raheel highlighted Pakistan’s perspective on the Middle East situation and pointed out, “Due to the situation in Middle East, the Muslim Ummah is weakening,” and “stressed the need for opening up the communication channel between Saudi Arabia and Iran.”

Speaking to media in Tehran after meeting Iranian President HasanRouhani and his cabinet members, the prime minister said Pakistan had achieved success in normalizing ties between the two countries in 1997 and also played the same role during tensions between Iran and Iraq.

He said, “Pakistan will appoint a focal person on Saudi-Iran issue and sincere efforts are being done in this regard.”

In his meeting with the Iranian Defence Minister Hosse Dehghan in Islamabad, Gen. Raheel Sharif reiterated that “Pakistan takes Iran as a very important neighbouring Muslim country and the people of Pakistan have a great affinity with their Iranian brothers.” The Iranian defence minister thanked Gen. Raheel and the people of Pakistan for their efforts to bolster regional security.

While, during the trip of Saudi Arabia’s deputy crown prince and defence minister, Mohammed bin Salman at Islamabad, Pakistan’s prime minister and chief of army staff had assured him to defuse tension between the two brother countries. His visit came just four days after the kingdom’s Foreign Minister Adel al Jubeir visited Islamabad.

It is notable that some media analysts had misinterpreted the statements of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Gen. Raheel Sharif that during their interactions with the rulers of Saudi Arabia, they preferred Riyadh over Tehran by reiterating that “the people of Pakistan would always stand with the people of Saudi Arabia against any threat to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the kingdom.” However, it was not true, as Islamabad decided to play a mediatory role between the two Muslim countries as part of a balanced approach in the Middle East.

It is mentionable that in the recent past, Islamabad refused to send its troops in Syria to fight against the Islamic State group (ISIS) which is Sunni-based militant outfit and wants to oust the Shia-government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Similarly, last year, Riyadh insisted upon Pakistan to send its armed forces in Saudi Arabia and also to join the coalition to conduct aerial strikes on Yemen. Islamabad which did not join the coalition had also refused to dispatch its forces in Saudi Arabia. Instead, Pakistan’s parliament had passed a unanimous resolution which stated, “The war in Yemen is not sectarian in nature, but has the potential of turning into a sectarian conflict which will have critical fallout in the region including Pakistan.” It urged the government “to stay neutral in the Yemen” conflict and called upon “warring factions in Yemen to resolve their differences peacefully through dialogue.”

On December 15, 2015, Saudi Arabia announced a 34-state Sunni-based military alliance to fight the ISIS. The alliance included Islamic states such as Egypt, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Malaysia, and some African states, with a joint operations centre established in Riyadh. The name of Pakistan was also mentioned in the list. Washington immediately welcomed the alliance.

On December 17, 2015, Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary AizazChaudhry said that he was surprised to read the news that Saudi Arabia had named Pakistan as part of the alliance.

As already stated that in wake of Iran-Saudi Arabia rift, Pakistan’s National Assembly debated the issue, when Sartaj Aziz informed the Assembly that Pakistan would continue to play its mediatory role between Iran and Saudi Arabia, The Leader of Opposition Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah and other parliamentary leaders had asked the government to refrain from joining the Saudi Arabia-led alliance at the cost of neighboring Iran.
It is of particular attention that the US had planned to spark a civil war between the Sunnis and Shias in wake of war on terror. For the purpose, a study of Rand Corporation, titled ‘US Strategy in the Muslim World After 9/11’ was conducted on behalf of the then US Deputy Chief of Staff for Air Force. Its report which was released on December 27, 2004 advocated that Sunni-Shia sectarian division should be exploited to promote the US objectives in the Muslim World. The report was first implemented in Iraq.

In 2004, major terror-attacks were carried out against the Shias. Afterwards, a chain of Shia-Sunni clashes started between Iraqi Shias and Sunnis, targeting each other’s mosques and religious leaders through bomb blasts, suicide attacks etc. After Iraq’s experiment, more deadly pattern of sectarian strife and clashes have been conducted in Pakistan. With the tactical assistance of American CIA and Mossad, Indian secret agency RAW have arranged a number of attacks on mosques and religious leaders of Shias and Sunnis through the militant groups such as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Jundullah (God’s soldiers). These outfits kidnapped and killed many Iranian nationals in Pakistan including Iranian diplomats. Jundollah conducted several subversive acts in Pakistan’s province of Balochistan and Iranian Sistan-Baluchistan. In this connection, Tehran has directly accused CIA of funding these types of terror attacks.

It is noteworthy that while hinting towards US and Israel, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei had disclosed, “The bloody actions being committed in Iraq, Pakistan and Iran are aimed at creating a division between the Shias and Sunnis…those who carry out these terrorist actions are directly or indirectly foreign agents.”

Pakistan’s leading Ulemas (Religious scholars) of the Shia-Sunni sects, including politicians have repeatedly pointed out that external conspiracies were being hatched to destroy peace in the country though sectarian divide.

However, it is regrettable that some Islamic countries are acting upon dual strategy. For example, if we take cognizance of the perennial wave of terror attacks in Turkey and failure of country’s security agencies in thwarting these subversive acts, question arises either Turkey is implementing dual strategy.

In this respect, the triple suicide bombing at the Atatürk International Airport in Istanbul killed more than 50 persons and injured more than 250 individuals on June 28, this year.

No group claimed responsibility for these suicide blasts. But, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said. “Our thoughts on those responsible for the attack lean toward Islamic State” (Also known as ISIS or ISIL or Daesh). John Brennan, head of the US CIA also stated that the attack bore the hallmarks of Islamic State “depravity.”

A Turkish official told the AP that the “three bombers who carried out the attack on Istanbul’s main airport had connections to Russia, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan,” having links with the ISIL.

Turkey is part of a US-led military coalition against the ISIS in Syria and Iraq. But, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan who always follow contradictory policies has taken steps this week to improve relations with Israel and Russia to strengthen its hand in fighting against militants, stated the attack at the airport should serve as a turning point in the global battle against terrorism.

As part of his own dual strategy and that of the US-led countries like Israel, some European countries in relation to ISIS, Syria and Russia, including some Islamic countries such as Libya, Yemen etc., Ankara has ignored any indication about the militant outfit Kurdistan Workers’ Party-PKK which also did not claim responsibility for these triple suicide assaults, and which is being assisted by American CIA, including Israeli Mossad.

The Turkish government is simultaneously facing two main terrorist organizations PKK and ISIS. Since July 2015, Turkish Special Forces have been launching a counter-terrorism campaign against the PKK. While as part of the anti-ISIS coalition, Ankara carried out numerous airstrikes against ISIS strongholds in Iraq and artillery shelling across the border with Syria.

ISIL which accepted responsibility for several terror attacks in Turkey was also blamed for March 19 and January 12 terror attacks in Istanbul as well as the October 10, 2015 assault in Ankara, which claimed over 100 civilian lives. But, in most of the cases, PKK did not claim responsibility.

As regards the triple suicide bombing at the Atatürk International Airport, the fact of the matter is that Turkish President Erdogan who have been acting upon the double game of the US-led entities which include some European countries and particularly Israel against Russia regarding Syria and ISIS have become target of his own double game.

When in September, last year, the Russian-led coalition of Iran, Iraq, the Syrian army-the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Lebanon-based Hezbollah began attacking the US-CIA-Mossad assisted ISIS terrorists, Al-Qaeda’s Al-Nusra Front and the rebels who have been fighting to throw out the Syrian President Assad’s regime and against the present Iraqi regime as part of America’s double game to protect the Israeli illegitimate interests in the Middle East, Turkish President Erdogan’s real face was came to the limelight. Clandestinely, like some Arab countries, especially Saudi Arabia, he implemented the policies of America, Israel and Western Europe, and tarnished the image of Turkey in the eyes of the Islamic World.

Notably, on November 26, 2015, a Russian plane was brought down by Turkey without any warning as part of the US-planned scheme and war-like situation was created between Moscow and Ankara. Although Turkey is the member of the NATO, yet President Erdogan misperceived that US-led NATO would defend Turkey against Russia, as attack on one country is considered as an attack on all the NATO countries. America and other NATO states did not want to take the risk of war against Russia for the sake of Ankara. But, Turkish President Erdogan continued acting upon the double game of the US-led countries.

In this context, Russia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lavrov said, “By shooting down a Russian plane on a counter-terrorist mission in Syria did not violate Turkey’s airspace…the Turkey’s actions appear planned, and undertaken with a specific objective…Turkey’s role in the propping up the terror network through illegal oil trade…Turkey’s involvement in the ISIS’ illegal trade in oil, which is transported via the area where the Russian plane was shot down, and about the terrorist infrastructure, arms and munitions depots and control centers that are also located there.”

In this context, French General Dominique Trinquand (R) also reaffirmed Lavrov’s stand by saying, “Turkey is either not fighting ISIL at all or very little, and does not interfere with different types of smuggling that takes place on its border, be it oil or people…the reason we find this line of questioning fascinating is that just in the aftermath of the French terror attack asked who is the one breaching every known law of funding terrorism when buying ISIS crude oil, almost certainly with the tacit approval by various western alliance governments, and why is it that these governments continue funding ISIS”

On April 26, 2016, RT (Russian TV Channel) documentary with exclusive eye witness reports and documents, abandoned by retreating jihadists and found by RT documentary crew members in a region liberated by Syrian Kurds, pointed to commercial scale oil smuggling operations and cozy relations between ISIS and Turkey. The area surrounding the town is well known for its vast oil reserves and extraction activity that for months was reaped by ISIS command to generate revenue. A teenage oil refinery worker told RT, “Of course, they wouldn’t get any weapons from Turkey if they didn’t ship them oil…they...go with the oil and come back with the guns.”

ISIS member from Saudi Arabia, Muhammed Ahmed Muhammed told RT. “Crossing the Syrian-Turkish border was also very easy…the Islamic State erased the borders…there are apparent ties between Turkey and IS…Turkey decided to support IS so they could destroy Syria. But Syria will stand up to them.”

Apart from RT, some analysts and Sputnik have also shown solid proof by pointing out smuggling of oil, Turkey-ISIS liaison in this respect, while mentioning, “Recep Erdogan’s son Bilal Erdogan who owns several maritime companies has signed contracts with European operating companies to carry Iraqi oil to different countries…ISIS is being fed and kept alive by Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkish intelligence service, including MIT, the Turkish CIA. ISIS militants were trained by US, Israeli and now it emerges by Turkish Special Forces at secret bases in Konya Province inside the Turkish border to Syria.”

US Vice President Joe Biden told a Harvard gathering in October 2014 that Erdogan’s regime was backing ISIS with “hundreds of millions of dollars and thousands of tons of weapons.

While, taking note of Ankara’s pro-Israeli policies and against the Syrian refugees, Muslim political experts and a number of human rights groups, particularly Amnesty International in its press release on April 1, 2016 criticized, the controversial Turkish-EU refugee deal by indicating, “Large-scale forced returns of refugees from Turkey to war-ravaged Syria expose the fatal flaws in a refugee deal signed between Turkey and the European Union…all forced returns to Syria are illegal under Turkish, EU and international law.”

Puzzled owing to his own double game and that of the US-led West, on May 8, 2016, Turkish President Erdogan has kept up his rebuke of European nations, accusing them of dictatorship and cruelty for keeping their frontiers closed to migrants and refugees fleeing the Syrian conflict. He clarified that “Turkey would not meet a EU demand for his country to reform its anti-terrorism legislation.” As Erdogan has become target of his dual strategy, hence, a rift has been created between the West and Turkey, the close ally of NATO.

Following the American double game, Turkey has also been assisting the Syrian rebel groups, the Al-Nusra Front and ISIS militants. As per the CIA directions, in Aleppo city, shell and mortar attacks by ISIS and the rebel groups have continued on the Kurdish neighborhood of Sheikh Maqsoud. ISIS has also continued firing rockets across the border into the Turkish town of Kilis. In the pretext, the Turkish military is retaliating with shell fire and has also been interfering in Syria.

It is mentionable that like the US, Ottoman Empire of Turkey was a large multi-ethnic state. European powers, especially the Great Britain played a key role in disintegration of the Ottoman Empire. In order to maintain their control, one of the British strategies was divide and rule which was being practiced through various tactics such as arrangement of rebellions, manipulation of ethnic and sectarian differences and so on. The Britain provided soldiers, weapons and money to the Arab subjects against Turkish Empire.

According to the Sykes-Picot Agreement, the British and French agreed to divide the Arab world between themselves. The Britain took control of what are now Iraq, Kuwait, and Jordan. The French were given modern Syria, Lebanon and southern Turkey. Thus, they brought about the end of the Ottomans and the rise of the new states like Jordon, Sudan, Syria, Kuwait etc. with borders running across the Middle East, dividing Muslims from each other.

Henry Kissinger had suggested the split of Iraq into three independent regions, ruled by Kurds, Shias and Sunnis.

Covertly, President Erdogan who has been backing the US-led policy of divide and rule has become target of his own double game at the cost of Turkey and other vulnerable
Muslim countries which have been destabilized by America, some European countries and Israel in the pretext of fighting ISIS or terrorism.

It is noteworthy that Israel’s President Reuven Rivlin has sent his condolences to the Turkish people regarding the terror attacks at the airport in Istanbul. Both the countries have reconciled after years of tension over the death of Turkish nationals at the hands of Israeli commandoes who had stormed the Turkish ship Mavi Marmara. Reuven Rivlin wrote a letter saying: “I take this opportunity to welcome the chance to renew our good relationship especially because our strengthened dialogue will greatly aid in our joint efforts against this threat, and because it sends a strong message to the terrorists that we will stand untied against hatred.”

When on March 19, 2016, three Israelis were killed and five were wounded in the suicide bombing in Istanbul, Turkish President Erdogan wrote a letter of condolences to President Reuven Rivlin, saying he was “very sorry” to hear that three Israelis were killed and five wounded in the Istanbul attack.

Sometimes, the hunter becomes the hunt and the gunner himself becomes a target. It happens so with the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan whose country Turkey pays for his dual strategy and that of the US-led entities, as the militants of the PYD, PKK and ISIS would continue terror attacks in Turkey as part of the secret game, especially of CIA and Mossad to destabilize this Muslim country. On the other side, Pakistan’s armed forces and country’s ISI are successfully castigating the double game of the US-led India, Israel and some Western countries against the integrity of their country. Turkey must better follow Pakistan in this respect.

Returning to our earlier discussion, Pakistan is playing a balancing role, while, dual Strategy of some Muslim countries is destabilizing the region and the Middle East.

Another Kashmiri Leader Martyred

By Sajjad Shaukat

Protests erupted after Indian security forces martyred 22-year-yound Kashmir leader Burhan Wani on July 8, 2016. A new wave of Indian brutalities has set in with the martyr of an eminent leader.

Despite a curfew in the Indian-held Kashmir and brutal tactics of Indian police and other security forces, demonstrations have continued. To suppress the protestors, devilish Indian Occupational Forces started playing havoc with the protestors resulting into martyring of more than 50 innocent and armless Kashmiris so far. The bloodshed is still on and God knows how many more Kashmiris will lose their lives at the hands of Indian forces.

The recent genocide in the Indian-controlled Kashmir has received wide coverage in International as well domestic Indian media.

Wani, in his early 20s, had become the face of the struggle in Kashmir and over the last five years was using social media like Facebook to reach out to young Kashmiri men to continue their movement for the independence of Kashmir. He became voice of the Kashmiri youth and his popularity irritated New Delhi.

Undoubtedly, Burhan Wani was a great voice for freedom of the Indian-occupied Kashmir. Hence, the planned killing of Burhan Wani triggered protest throughout the valley.

The terrible and heinous massacre of Muslim populace of the Indian-occupied Kashmir is continuing since seven decades without any break.  The catastrophe is big enough to move any conscious human being. Unfortunately, the callous insensitivity of international community is encouraging India to cross all limits of gross human rights violations. It is not that international community is unaware of atrocities, being unleashed on people of Indian-held Kashmir—it is rather the vested interest of Western governments to remain mute just to please India.

Instead of accepting the existing reality, New Delhi resorts to implicating Pakistan for Kashmiri uprising.  Indian allegations against Pakistan are ploy to hoodwink the International Community on Kashmir issue and a blanket to hide state sponsored atrocities on innocent people of Kashmir.
International community must realize the plight of the Indian-occupied Kashmir and their people. Kashmir has been under unlawful Indian occupation since October 1947. The people of Jammu and Kashmir have been granted the right of self-determination under the UN Charter, and under several UN Security Council resolutions, more specifically under UN (UNCIP) resolution of August 13, 1948, and January 5, 1949. These along with subsequent UN resolutions have affirmed that the question of accession of the State of Jammu and Kashmir to India or Pakistan will be decided through the political democratic method of free and impartial plebiscite. Unfortunately, stalwart supporter of Human equality and advocates of preservation of human rights have done little to resolve decades long Kashmir dispute.  It is sad to admit that death of few animals aired by international media can bring tears in the eyes of people, but no heart moves on genocide of innocent Kashmiris. These double standards are drag to international efforts on global peace.
In this regard, Leonardo Boff has rightly said, “The eternal destiny of human beings will be measured by how much or how little solidarity we have displayed with the hungry, the thirsty, the naked and the oppressed. In the end, we will be judged in terms of love.”
However, a peaceful, negotiated settlement of Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN resolutions should rank top on UN’s agenda. In order to find a swift and legal solution of Kashmir issue, international community must stand with people of the Indian-held Kashmir. New Delhi should also realize that no freedom movement has ever been suppressed with force and Kashmir is no exception.
Balochistan is showing solidarity with Kashmiris on 14th July.  Huge rallies in all parts of Balochistan are being planned to demonstrate unity with Kashmiris against crimes committed by India in the Indian-occupied Kashmir. Youth including universities, colleges and schools would be mobilized with civil society.  Local leaders will address the rallies to give a clear message of support to the Kashmiris.
Nevertheless, various forms of state terrorism have been part of a deliberate campaign by the Indian army and paramilitary forces against Muslim Kashmiris, especially since 1989. It has been manifested in brutal tactics like crackdowns, curfews, illegal detentions, massacre, targeted killings, sieges, burning the houses, torture, disappearances, rape, breaking the legs, molestation of Muslim women and killing of persons through fake encounter.
In fact, Indian forces have employed various draconian and controversial laws like Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and the Public Safety Act (PSA) etc. in killing the Kashmiri people, and arbitrarily arrest of any individual for an indefinite period.
Besides Human Rights Watch, in its various reports, Amnesty International has also pointed out grave human rights violations in the Indian controlled Kashmir, indicating, “The Muslim majority population in the Kashmir Valley suffers from the repressive tactics of the security forces. Under the Jammu and Kashmir Disturbed Areas Act, and the Armed Forces (Jammu and Kashmir) Special Powers Act and Public Safety Act, security forces personnel have extraordinary powers to shoot suspected persons.”
It is mentionable that under the cover of draconian laws, most of the times, majority of the popular pro-movement leadership is detained or house-arrested by the Indian security forces, and mostly, without prior orders from the higher authorities. As per a Kashmiri human rights group, Voice of Victim (VOV), a total of 1 471 torture centers are operating in the Indian-occupied Kashmir where arrested Kashmiri leaders and the youth are subjected to severe torture.
Nonetheless, martyrdom of the Kashmir leader Burhan Wani has given a new impetus to the Kashmiris to continue their struggle against the occupying forces of India.

Kashmir Accession to Pakistan Day

By Sajjad Shaukat

Every year, Kashmiris living on both sides of the Line of Control and Pakistan including rest of the world celebrate July 19 as the Day of Kashmir’s Accession to Pakistan, as on this very day in 1947, the historical resolution was adopted by the by the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference in Abi Guzar, Srinagar during an emergency convention at the residence of Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan. It was presided over by Chaudhry Hamid Ullah Khan, and the resolution was presented by Khawaja Ghulam-ud-Din Wani and Abdul Rahim Wani, with 59 prominent leaders in attendance.

The resolution was unanimously adopted, indicating that existing religious, geographical, cultural, economic ties and the aspirations of millions of Kashmiri Muslims warrant accession of the state of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) with Pakistan. During the partition of the Sub-continent, the people of the state of Jammu and Kashmir which comprised Muslim majority decided to join Pakistan according to the British-led formula. But, Dogra Raja, Sir Hari Singh, a Hindu who was ruling over the J&K in connivance with the Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Governor General Lord Mountbatten joined India.

The design to forcibly wrest Kashmir began to unfold on August 16, 1947, with the announcement of the Radcliffe Boundary Award. It gave the Gurdaspur District—a majority Muslim area to India to provide a land route to the Indian armed forces to move into Kashmir. There was a rebellion in the state forces, which revolted against the Maharaja and were joined by Pathan tribesmen. Lord Mountbatten ordered armed forces to land in Srinagar.

However, Indian forces invaded Srinagar on 27 October 1947 and forcibly occupied Jammu and Kashmir in utter violation of the partition plan and against the wishes of the Kashmiri people.

When Pakistan responded militarily against the Indian aggression, on December 31, 1947, India made an appeal to the UN Security Council to intervene and a ceasefire ultimately came into effect on January 01, 1949, following UN resolutions calling for a plebiscite in Kashmir.

It is mentionable that the Security Council adopted resolution 47 (1948) of 21 April 1948 which promised a plebiscite under UN auspices to enable the people of Jammu and Kashmir to determine whether they wish to join Pakistan or India. On February 5, 1964, India backed out of its promise of holding plebiscite. Instead, in March 1965, the Indian Parliament passed a bill, declaring Kashmir a province of India-an integral part of the Indian union.

The very tragedy of Kashmiris had started after 1947 when they were denied their genuine right of self-determination. They organised themselves against the injustices of India and launched a war of liberation which New Delhi tried to suppress through various forms of state terrorism.

Passing through various phases, the struggle of Kashmiris which has become an interaction between the Indian state terrorism led by the Indian security forces and war of liberation by the freedom fighters keeps on going unabated.
It is notable that since 1947, in order to maintain its illegal control, India has continued its repressive regime in the Occupied Kashmir through various machinations. In this regard, as already mentioned that India forcibly occupied Kashmir in gross violation of the “Partition Plan of the Indian Subcontinent, but, through the so-called-Instrument of Accession of October 27, 1947 which is illegal, and remains controversial, New Delhi justifies its hold on the Kashmir.

India has also been acting upon ethnic cleansing and conspiracies to alter the demography of the Indian-held Kashmir. In this context, Indian establishment has militarized the princely state of Kashmir since its illegitimate occupation. In 1947, the Muslims constituted 77%, while the Hindu population was 23% of the population. The ratio is now 64.19% to 32.24% due to unabated killings and other controversial acts like settlement of non-Muslim migrants (Hindus and Sikhs) from Punjab.

For the purpose, illegal land-grabbing is being practiced by Indian security forces such as Army, CRPF, ITB, and BSF in the Indian Occupied Kashmir, using lease and acquisitions.

According to a report on human rights violations in the Indian Occupied Kashmir, from January 1989 to December 2013, there have been deaths of 93,984 innocent Kashmiris, 7,014 custodial killings, 1,22,771 arrests, 1,05,996 destruction of houses or buildings, 22,776 women widowed,  1,07,466 children orphaned and  10,086 women gang-raped/molested.

Indian brutal securities forces have continued these atrocities—extrajudicial killings in way or the other.  From January 1 to June 15, 2014, there have been deaths of 54 innocent Kashmiris, 09 custodial killings, 3438 arrests, 08 destruction of houses or buildings, 02 women widowed, 03 children orphaned and 34 women gang-raped/molested. And death toll of the innocent Kashmiris has increased in 2015 and 2016.

As per a Kashmiri human rights group, Voice of Victim (VOV), a total of 1 471 torture centres are operating in the Occupied Kashmir where arrested Kashmiri leaders and the youth are subjected to severe torture.

In this respect, European Union has passed a resolution about human rights abuses committed by Indian forces in the Indian held Kashmir.

It is of particular attention that in 2008, a rights group reported unmarked graves in 55 villages across the northern regions of the Indian-held Kashmir. Then researchers and other groups reported finding thousands of mass graves without markers. In this regard, in the last few years, rights groups discovered nearly 3,000 unnamed graves in the various districts of Kashmir. In this respect, in August, 2011, Indian Jammu and Kashmir State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) officially acknowledged in its report that innocent civilians killed in the two-decade conflict have been buried in unmarked graves. The report indicated 2,156 unidentified bodies which were found in mass graves in various regions of the Indian-held Kashmir.

Notably, foreign sources and human rights organisations have revealed that unnamed graves include those innocent persons, killed by the Indian military and paramilitary troops in the fake encounters including those who were tortured to death by the Indian secret agency RAW.

In its report, China’s leading News Agency Xinhua has unearthed more gruesome details on world-stunning unmarked graves in Poonch of the Indian occupied Kashmir. The report revealed the statement of Sofi Aziz Joo, caretaker of a graveyard as saying, “Police and Army used to bring those bodies and direct me to bury them. The bodies were usually bullet-ridden, mutilated, faces disfigured and sometimes without limbs and heads.”

It seems that non-condemnation of these Indian massive human rights violations and non-interference for the settlement of this issue by the so-called civilized international community, especially the US have further encouraged New Delhi to keep on going with its state terrorism on the armless Kashmiri masses. Ignorance of the issue by them involves the risk of nuclear war between Pakistan and India.

Indian authorities are not willing to talk with Kashmiri people on political grounds. New Delhi reached to a conclusion that only bullet is the right way of dealing with Kashmiris, demanding their right of self-determination. Surprisingly, Indian successive governments are trying to ignore the dynamics of the freedom movement of Kashmiris for the sake of their alien rule.

Nonetheless, every year, the Kashmiris and their brethren in Pakistan, and those living all over the world observe July 19 as the Day of Kashmir’s Accession to Pakistan to re-affirm their commitment to continue their struggle against Indian illicit occupation, and till the attainment of this liberation.

MI6: Iraq War “Inextricably Tied” to Israel

The decision to wage war against Saddam Hussein’s Iraq was “inextricably tied” up with the “problems” created by Israel, a now-declassified but formerly top secret letter from the UK’s foreign intelligence unit, MI6, stated back in 2001.
The document, sent by the private secretary of MI6 head Richard Dearlove, to Sir David Manning, former UK Ambassador to the United States, was revealed as part of the Chilcot Inquiry into the Iraq War.
The Chilcot Inquiry—which, to no one’s surprise, found that former UK prime minister Tony Blair had misled the country, parliament, and the world about the true nature of Iraq’s nonexistent “weapons of mass destruction”—deferred from making any direct reference to the Jewish lobby’s proven role in fomenting the Iraq War, although Israel is mentioned hundreds of times in its supporting documents.
In the memo, dated December 3, 2001, titled “Letter from Richard Dearlove’s Private Secretary to Sir David Manning,” and stamped as “TOP SECRET, Declassified April 2011,” under the section “Attachment 1 to [letter] of 3 December 2001,” the following conclusion appears:
THE STRATEGIC VIEW
Iraq policy is inextricably tied up with the problem of Israel.
Further in the document, the memo admits that UK and US policy applies double standards, in that they seek to prosecute war against Iraq for allegedly having WMDs, but ignore Israel which actually does have WMDs:
IRAQ: Further thoughts
Iraq policy has got bogged down in talk about double standards over Israel and WMD.
Under the section titled “US ATTACKS ON IRAQ: THE RISKS AND COSTS,” the memo also admits that the US and UK face the risk of:
Accusations of double standards (one law for the Israelis; another for the Arabs).
In the section title “WHY MOVE?,” the memo goes on to say that
The removal of Saddam remains a prize because it . . . .[will] remove a threat to Jordan/Israel . . . [and that ]. . . [W]orking for regime change could be a dynamic process of alliance building which could effect climatic change in the Arab-Israeli conflict.”
Under a section titled “OUR AIMS FOR THE REGION,” the memo goes on to state that
Behind this Iraqi agenda lies two further aims: climatic change in the psychology of regimes in the region, a precondition for progress in the Arab-Israel dispute . . . The problem of WMD is an element in driving for action against Iraq. In turn, this should open prospects for Arab-Israeli talks….
Under the heading “THE STRATEGIC VIEW,” the MI6 memo states that
Iraq, like Syria and Iran, has significant link [sic] with Russia; a resonance throughout the Islamic world for opposition to US and Israel . . .
Throughout the declassified documents, there are literally hundreds of references to the supposed threat that Iraq’s mythical WMDs and its equally mythical “chemical and biological weapons” (CBW) posed to Israel.

READ  Border Walls and Turkish Hypocrisy

The Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC)—part of the British Cabinet Office responsible for directing the country’s national intelligence organizations—is quoted time and time again making this point:
TOP SECRET DECLASSIFIED
JIC Assessment, 9 September 2002
IRAQI USE OF CHEMICAL AND BIOLOGICAL WEAPONS – POSSIBLE SCENARIOS
Key Judgements
1. Saddam is prepared to order missile strikes against Israel, with chemical or biological warheads, in order to widen the war once hostilities begin.
And in 2002, the JIC claimed that Israel would be Iraq’s “first target.”
TOP SECRET DECLASSIFIED
JIC Assessment, 6 December 2002 IRAQ: MILITARY OPTIONS
1. Saddam would use chemical and biological weapons (CBW) if he faced defeat. He might also use them earlier in a conflict, including against coalition forces, neighbouring states and his own people. Israel could be his first target.
Missiles and CBW.
2. Iraq is assessed to have retained up to 20 Al Hussein missiles with a 650km range, though their condition is not known (See Annex for further details). Given the limited number of these missiles, we judge that Iraq would use them principally against Israel.

Another one of many references was in March 2003:

This note was prepared by the Assessments Staff following discussion at the JIC on 19 March 2003
Israel
12. Saddam might judge that an early attack on Israel would draw in support from Arab nations. […] show Israel to be among the targets for Iraqi missile attack.
A JIC report for November 28, 2001, also confirms that Saddam Hussein was supporting the Palestinian resistance to the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, and that this was another reason why Iraq had to be destroyed:

The wider picture
11. Against Israel, however, there is a clearer picture of state sponsorship of terrorism:
Iraq has maintained its links with a wide range of mostly secular Palestinian rejectionist groups.
Another JIC report for April 2002 reveals that Arab states are all aware of the “double standards” which the UK and US apply to Israel, and that this makes Arab support for the invasion of Iraq “impossible.”

IRAQ: REGIONAL ATTITUDES
Key Judgements
I. The current Israeli/Palestinian crisis makes Arab support for an attack on Iraq politically impossible at present. There is no sign that strong anti-US sentiment will dissipate quickly, even if there is progress towards an equitable resolution to the Palestinian issue.
The effect of the Israel/Palestine crisis
1. Arab attitudes towards Iraq, and particularly towards any prospective US-led attack, are inextricably linked to bilateral relations with the US, events on the ground in the Occupied Territories and perceived Western “double standards” in favour of Israel.
Furthermore, a JIC assessment for July 2001, said that the “US is compromised by its support for Israel.”

IRAQ: CONTINUING EROSION OF SANCTIONS
1. Iraq’s isolation has diminished. Land, sea and air transport links are being revived. Wider Arab sympathy for Iraq is bolstered by Saddam’s championing of Palestinian rights, the widespread Arab perception that the US is compromised by its support for Israel, and false propaganda about incidents in the No Fly Zone.
Even Tony Blair admitted that Israel was always “first on the agenda” at his regular meetings with US president George Bush when they were planning the war—and that Israeli officials even took part in these conferences.

A transcript of Blair’s evidence, given to the inquiry on January, 29, 2010, makes this clear:
Friday, 29 January 2010 (9.30 am)
BARONESS USHA PRASHAR: Can we then come to Crawford? Because you had one-to-one discussions with President Bush without any advisers present. Can you tell us what was decided at these discussions?
RT HON TONY BLAIR: As I recall that discussion, it was less to do with specifics about what we were going to do on Iraq or, indeed, the Middle East, because the Israel issue was a big, big issue at the time. I think, in fact, I remember, actually, there may have been conversations that we had even with Israelis, the two of us, whilst we were there. So that was a major part of all this.
The official confirmation from these previously secret government documents cements the facts which prove that the most significant human rights abuses of the early twenty-first century can be unequivocally blamed on Tony Blair, George W. Bush, and the Israel-supporting Jewish lobby in both the United Kingdom and the United States.
